MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Pastor Josiah Hayden
One of the biggest shaping influences in my life is camp ministry. I spent 6 years in high school and college serving at 5 awesome, discipleship-oriented camps like Niagara Adventure Camp and Twin Lakes Camp in Indiana. It was during my fourth summer at Niagara—after God 2×4’d me freshman year and saved me from myself and my sin—that He pressed onto my heart a desire to pursue full-time ministry work. At that stage, I didn’t know what this would look like. I only knew that His Word changed my life and the lives of people around me. I decided to transfer to Clarks Summit University in PA and pursue a degree in Bible and Ministry, setting my aspirations for a music career aside. A few years later, God led me here, to the most unexpected place. Though it is not easy, serving as your pastor has been one of the most joy-filled experiences of my life. I would not trade it for anything in the world. Lately, God has been teaching me that I have a long way to grow before I look like Him. But He has been showing me His faithfulness to plant His footsteps in the sea and walk with me through the storms and times of calm. Everything good I am today I owe to Him. I will jump on Pastor Andrew’s wagon this week and ask for “prayer to hunger and thirst after God and His Word and to have a God entranced vision of all things.” I don’t know of anything I stand in more need of than that. I love you all! Excited for what God will do next
