Below is a short description of each of our ministries. We thank the Lord for the many ways He has allowed us to serve Him but really these are just the tip of the iceberg. Space would not allow for us to tell you about all the ways our church family is loving one another and their communities. We believe that ministry does not equal programs and cannot be reduced to what we do for each other during a few hours on Sunday. Ministry is about loving, serving, encouraging, teaching, and forgiving one another. In other words, the real work of God is people work, and this can happen anytime, anywhere. To summarize all of this, you could say: Ministry is helping each other to look and live more like Jesus.
Corporate Worship is the central ministry of our congregation designed to promote a sense of joy in what God has done for us in Jesus. Our worship focuses on the exposition of God’s Word (i.e., biblical preaching) as the primary tool to bring us and others to a knowledge of our Great God and our need to respond to Him. Prayer, the reading of the Word, congregational singing, testimony, and the ordinances serve to draw our attention to God and give us opportunities to worship Him.
Nursery and Children’s Church are provided during our morning worship services. Infants can be checked into the Nursery before the service. Children 3 years old through Kindergarten will be dismissed midway through the service before our pastor gets up to deliver his message. The nursery (room 101) is located along the back wall of our main lobby, also called the Fellowship Center. Kids ages 3 years old – Kindergarten are in room 102, immediately to the left of the nursery. Please ask our welcome desk if you’d like help finding your child’s classroom.
Our older kids, ages 1st through 6th grade will be dismissed at the same time during the service. Their class is located down the hallway to the left of the coffee bar. It is the second classroom on the right (room 110). All ages will be guided to their classrooms by their teachers, who will meet them outside the auditorium after they are dismissed.
Discipleship Hour begins at 9:15. We offer a wide range of classes for every age from toddlers to adults. During this time our kids are divided into classes by age, which use a curriculum called The Gospel Project. For adults, as the name we have given this time suggests, we are teaching on Disciple-making with a focus on areas of Christian living like prayer, encouragement, how to share your faith, how to study the Bible, etc.
Kids Club meets on Sunday nights from 6 to 7:30pm during the Fall through the Spring. Kids club is for preschoolers (4 years old) up through 6th grade.
Youth Group (7th-12th grade) meets on Sunday nights from 6 to 7:45pm during the school year. The teens are welcome to come early and stay late, during which time our leaders are building relationships that we hope will lead to lasting influence. Our youth ministry mission is to help students go from Lost to Leading for the glory for God.
Growth Groups provide the encouragement, correction and accountability we all need to keep us from drifting and cause us to grow in Christ. Our aim is for them to be transformational in three ways: (1) Transforming believers through Bible study, fellowship, accountability and prayer, (2) Transforming unbelievers as we intentionally invite them to our groups where they can see the gospel in action, (3) Transforming Orangeville as we intentionally seek out ways to be involved in our town and have a salt and light influence. These groups follow a 1-4-1 pattern of 1 social activity, 4 group meetings, and 1 community activity every 6 weeks.
Biblical Counseling is provided free of charge to everyone. We believe God’s Word contains the solutions for all the spiritual problems of life and our pastors or one of our trained counselors would be privileged to serve you in this way. Please check out orangevillebiblicalcounseling.com.
Church Membership is a crucial part of our ministry in that we believe every Christian should be committed to a good local church where he or she can be cared for in an atmosphere that encourages spiritual maturity and growth. If you are not a member of a Gospel-preaching, Bible-believing church, it would be our joy and privilege to serve you in this way. If you would like to inquire about becoming a member please contact the church for more information.
Food Pantry & Baby Pantry is open on Thursdays from 9am – noon. If you or someone you know is in need, please give us a call.
