We thank the Lord for the many ways He has allowed us to serve Him. Space would not allow for us to tell you about all the ways our church family is loving one another and their communities. We believe that ministry is more than programs and cannot be reduced to what we do for each other during a few hours once a week. Ministry is about loving, serving, encouraging, teaching, and forgiving one another. In other words, the real work of God is people work, and this happens everywhere we live, learn, work, and play. Ministry is about helping each other to look and live more like Jesus.
Corporate Worship is a central ministry of our congregation designed to promote a sense of joy in what God has done for us in Jesus. Our worship focuses on the exposition of God’s Word (i.e. biblical preaching) as the primary tool to bring us and others to a knowledge of our Great God and our need to respond to Him. Prayer, the reading of the Word, congregational singing, testimony, baptism, and the Lord’s Supper serve to draw our attention to God and give us opportunities to worship Him.
Nursery and Children’s Church are provided during our morning worship services. Infants are checked into the nursery before each service. Children 3 years old through Kindergarten are dismissed during the service before our pastor speaks. The nursery (room 101) is located along the back wall of our main lobby. Children’s Church for ages 3 through Kindergarten is held in room 102, immediately to the left of the nursery. Please ask our welcome desk if you’d like help finding your child’s classroom.
Our older kids, 1st through 6th grade are dismissed at the same time during the service. Their class is located down the hallway to the left of the coffee bar. It is the second classroom on the right (room 110). All ages will be guided to their classrooms by their teachers, who will meet them outside the auditorium after they are dismissed.
Discipleship Hour begins at 9:15. We offer a wide range of classes for every age from toddlers to adults. During this time our kids are divided into classes by age, which use a curriculum called The Gospel Project. For adults, as the name we have given to this time suggests, we are teaching on disciple-making with a focus on areas of Christian living like prayer, encouragement, how to share your faith, how to study the Bible, etc.
Kids Club is a dynamic and fun ministry geared for Kids. We meet on Wednesdays from 6 to 7:30pm during the Fall through Spring. Kids Club is for preschoolers (4 years old) up through 6th grade.
Youth Group (7th – 12th grade) meets on Sunday nights from 6 to 7:45pm during the school year. Our teens are welcome to come early and stay late, during which time our leaders are building relationships that we hope will lead to lasting influence. Our youth ministry mission is to help students go from lost to leading for the glory for God.
Life Groups provide a close-knit spiritual family that we all need. Through small groups, we can encourage each other and stay accountable, so that we grow in Christ and do not drift. Our aim is for these groups to be transformational in three ways: (1) Believers are transformed through spiritual disciplines like Bible study, fellowship, accountability, and prayer. (2) Unbelievers are transformed as we intentionally invite them to see the gospel in action. (3) West Michigan is transformed as we are involved with our neighbors as a salt and light influence. Our groups follow a 1-4-1 pattern of 1 social activity, 4 group meetings, and 1 community activity every 6 weeks.
Biblical Counseling is provided free of charge to everyone. We believe that God’s Word contains solutions for every problem we face in life, so our trained counselors are blessed to share this help and hope with those who need it. Please check out our website: orangevillebiblicalcounseling.com.
Church Membership is crucial because God calls us to be committed to a local church where we can be cared for in an atmosphere that encourages spiritual maturity and growth. If you are not a member of a Gospel-preaching, Scripture-believing church, it would be our joy and privilege to be that church home for you. If you would like to inquire about becoming a member please contact the church for more information.
Food Pantry & Baby Pantry are community ministries open on Thursdays 9am-12pm. If you or someone you know is in need, please give us a call.
