“Thus says the Lord: ‘Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the Lord.  For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see when good comes, but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land which is not inhabited. Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord.  For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.’”  Jeremiah 17:5-8

Spotlight on Missions

From Paul & Courtney Gille

“In April we had the chance to visit some missionary friends Mike and Fran VanBruggen while they were in the U.S. for a visit. They are missionaries with Word of Life in South Africa. While we talked, plans came together for me to be the camp speaker in South Africa in December 2015, that gives us 15 months to raise the funds for the trip so Courtney and I can minister to the campers and staff of Word of Life South Africa! April also brought much better weather than winter did, so we were not sure if attendance at our Life Application Bible Studies would continue to be a strong as the winter months. It is wonderful to have even more attending the last 2-3 meetings! Many of the young adults are inviting friends who are actually staying faithful even when the one who invited them isn’t able to attend. Some have shared the practical help God’s Word has been as we studied through the book of Ecclesiastes.”
