The new year brings opportunities for ministry in the county jail.  Have you ever given serious consideration to ministry in this area?  We would like to have a small team of people from our church that goes into the jail (about 4, 5 times a year on Sunday afternoons) to lead singing, provide special music, give testimony, and bring a Bible message.  Please see Pastor Dan if you are concerned for this ministry and for the men and women who often are “forgotten” in our communities.  Pray for our Chaplain Bill Medendorp who serves there each week.

Persecuted Church: More than 100,000 Christians and 1 million others displaced from their homes in Iraq by jihadists of the Islamic State now face a brutal winter, according to International  Christian Concern.  Many were driven out of their homes with nothing but “the shirts on their backs.”  John Pontifex of Aid to the Church in Need says that “There is an absolutely overwhelming need…people cannot be expected to survive in tents.”  Pray for provision and shelter for those Iraqis in need this winter.  Pray also that the Lord will move in Iraq, and that Muslim extremists will stop harming the children of God and become children of God.
